I keep hearing about grants and how they can help aspiring business owners. Well, my dream is to start a martial arts school that also holds community outreach programs like counseling, meditation seminars, anti-rape seminars, literacy programs, and all kinds of things. But, I havent the slightest clue on what to do. I keep researching websites, but I keep getting sent to other links, that send to other links!!! I live in Nashville,Tn. Any help would be amazing

Ok we have to take these remediation course at my school if u didn’t score well on the end of level literacy exam. Now these course are after school, YOU HAVE TO GO TO THEM, the only people in there are sinors who scored basic on there end of level exams. If you do not go to the remediation classes you fail english and don’t graduate. There is no make up, there is no chance for you to take it in summer school.. I know it used to be when I went…now it seems like no one knows how to spell anything. Actually, it used to be called “grammar school” when I went, now there doesn’t seem to be the same emphasis on grammar and literacy.

Is it a good idea to talk about volunteer work that you did in this 500-word statement? So far, in the part that I’m talking about my future goals, I wrote that I am interested in becoming a professor and teach university-level students.
I have done some volunteer work in adult literacy (teaching adults how to read & write), so do you think this would be considered “teaching” experience, and do you think it will improve my chances of getting in? Or is it irrelevant?
