and the following passage struck me:

“If there’s a child on the south side of Chicago who can’t read, that matters to me, even if it’s not my child.”

Why didn’t Obama use some of the $98 million from the Chicago Anenburg Challenge for literacy programs instead of spending the bulk of it on “radicalizing schools” and funding “community organizer” groups?

Wouldn’t that have been putting money where his mouth had gone?

I have a question about tutoring. I have lots of experience tutoring younger children (grades 1 to 3), but for certain reasons I need to have experience tutoring older children, like middle to high schoolers. I am a college student and am not certified in teaching or anything, tutoring is just something I love to do. I am kind of concerned because there are certain skills that 5-9 year olds need to work on, that I have experience helping them with, which I imagine are very different than kids who are 12-18 years old. In writing a literacy narrative, you can a pose a question to the readers then answer for effect. I can’t seem to find the name of this term, nor any websites with it.
Rhetorical is when you ask a question with no answer, this word is when you ask a question then answer it. It’s a more advance college word.
