“Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently”
-Henry Ford-
I am a firm believer that failure is an important part of any learning cycle. In the case of English as a Second Language, many capable non-native English speakers become withdrawn, shy and even scared when faced with the prospect of having to converse with non-native English speakers. This is simply because many language learners are afraid to dare. They worry constantly about not meeting expectations, making a mistake, or failing while trying something new. In that vein, were they to adhere to Ford’s advice and take the plunge;…

For example, Mississippi is known as one of the most, if not the most conservative state in the country, and it also boasts the lowest literacy rate, as does its other southern companions, such as Louisiana, Alabama, and Kentucky, etc.
While more liberal states that embrace diversity, homosexual rights, true religious freedom are far far more prosperous. For example, California and New York. California I believe either the 7 or 8 largest economy in the world. While more conservative states, that have a history and reputation of not being “open minded” or have a record of not respecting civil or…

By Robin Fisher Roffer
We all know the story. Weâve watched the classic movie over and over and had the cheery song stuck in our heads for days. (Youâre hearing it now, arenât you?) Weâve cheered on the plucky red-nosed reindeer and his companion Hermey, the determined elf with dental school dreams. Even as adults, weâve delighted in the snowy North Pole scenes, shuddered at the Abominable Snowman, and rejoiced at our unlikely heroâs happy ending. But few of us have really pondered the meaning behind this little fable: that a fulfilling life means being yourselfâ(symbolic) glowing red nose and all.
Thereâs…

I am doing a project with the human development annual report. I have to look at a list of data, and use it to compare how well/poor a country is doing.
Here is the list:
Population using improved sanitation
population using improved water source
population undernourished
life expectancy at birth
infant mortality rate
adult literacy rate
cellular subscribers
internet users
GDP per capita
GDP per capita annual growth rate
total population
annual population growth rate
health expenditure
physicians (per 100,000)
electricity consumption per capita
year women received right to vote
so, for example I might compare life expenditure with the population undernourished. If the country had a low life expenditure, and a high undernourished percentage… then this could…

Creative writing has always been my favourite kind of writing. To be honest, I don’t like poetry or journalism. In school I finished my first year of journalism only to decide I didn’t like it, there are too many rules.
That’s what is great about creative writing, you only have one rule; anything goes. Basically the only requirement is to figure out how you’re going to write the next great novel, are you going to draft it out via outline, brainstorm, or just go with the flow.
I like writing on the fly, I just open up a Microsoft word document and…

Today, I’ll let you in on a little secret that I use to read at least four business books every month, without taking any additional time out of my day.
Every single successful person I know focuses on learning daily, and it’s no accident. Top business owners know that ongoing education is an absolute necessity.
I don’t mean the kind of education you got in school, in those dusty old college business books that were full of numbers and boring graphs.
I mean a different kind of education that deals more with street smarts, than book smarts.
Did you know that the majority of…
