Literacy in Canada
As a Canadian, I have come to realize that there is a major problem between literacy and illiteracy. Some people still struggle to use some of the most original methods to survive. I’ve noticed in subways, or on buses people still counting the number of stops by their fingers. I read once that it was about 30%.
Does that sound about right?
In the article I read it blamed television on the illiteracy rate being so high. I love t.v. but I also read a lot. As I read the article I felt that there are other ways to stimulate your mind that do not include reading.
What do you think?
