This woman is truly exceptional. She has been a teacher for 15 or so years, to which she does an excellent job. She has a 24 yr old daughter that is mentally retarded since birth and who has seizures pretty much everyday, and she has never once thought of sending her to a home. She also teaches an adult literacy class one night a week, and does other things to help the community when she can. On top of THAT she also keeps books for her husbands small business.
She is by far the kindest and smartest person I know,…

While most Americans believe that getting rid of religion is an impossible goal, much of the developed world has already accomplished it. Any account of a “god gene” that causes the majority of Americans to helplessly organize their lives around ancient works of religious fiction must explain why so many inhabitants of other First World societies apparently lack such a gene. The level of atheism throughout the rest of the developed world refutes any argument that religion is somehow a moral necessity. Countries like Norway, Iceland, Australia, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, the Netherlands, Denmark and the United Kingdom are…

Times are tough for the man on the street … Main Street that is, not Wall Street.
From the struggling small business owner to the disillusioned university graduate and near- to- being wiped- out retiree, there is a complete sense of disbelief.
Many are unemployed and facing the highest unemployment rates since the Great Depression.
If they could land a J. O. B. (some refer to this sort of work as Just Over Broke), it is usually for lower pay and part time.
Therefore many are reluctantly considering becoming an entrepreneur and switching status from a W2 to a 1099 and becoming a member…

Africa’s problems have either been magnified in the minds of the West or perhaps Africans have come to accept that they are meant to be down on the stairs of poverty.
Hollywood film makers enjoy painting a monastery type of Africa with uncivilised people who are always fighting for power, food, and diamonds. Analysing films like blood diamonds, the rise and fall of Idi- Amin, Hotel Rwanda have much to tell on what resides in the minds of Hollywood filmmakers. In trying to cancel this picture Nollywood (Nigeria) film makers have gone to the edge of the scale indicating what the…

I need to know if this is good enough to teach ESL in Korea.
I have a BS degree in Public Policy
I have TESOL
I have one year of experience teaching ESL
I have two years of tutoring experience in math, science, reading, and history
Is this good enough? Do I need to do more?
It is true. I do not have experience with young children. Maybe I should find a job with children before I leave?
