Consider the importance of scientific literacy in the 21st century, a time when science influences every aspect of our lives from shopping at the grocery store (genetically modified food), to choosing a car (environmental implications), to voting on political issues (ecology, health, conservation, and technology).

Historically speaking, relatively recently, literacy has become greatly more common. And with the advent of technologies that allow people to communicate instantly all over the world (such as me asking this to you right now), it seems less likely that localized communities will deviate from the standard and contribute to the slow evolution of language.
Tell me what you think, or if it would be too early in history to judge such a thing.
Looks like I don’t have a choice as to who to give the best answer to…

Before Italy joined the Six Nations they had a formidable team that would have held their end up in the championship throughout the 1990s. Italian rugby was rudely professional before it dawned on, say, the Celtic nations that the game was about to go open.
David Campese would spend the Australian off-season in Milan and earn himself a decent crust in a competitive Italian championship. Italy in the 90s, just as Romania had been in the 1980s, were ready for inclusion long before the Five Nations was ready for expansion.
Romania never received an invitation, and the sport that prospered under the…

For me, and everyone else who has even the most basic level of scientific literacy, Evolution is a robust scientifically derived observation that has been tested and confirmed again and again over the past 150 years.
Intelligent design, on the other hand, is not science at all, but a well-financed political and religious campaign to muddy science, and introduce religion in the classroom.
How do you compare the two..?
thank you

“A historian says class-based natural selection caused the Industrial Revolution. Theory: 1) In pre-industrial England, wills show “the rich had more surviving children than the poor.” 2) “The poor failed to reproduce themselves and the progeny of the rich took over their occupations. ” Therefore, 3) “The modern population of the English is largely descended from the economic upper classes of the Middle Ages.” As a result, 4) “Thrift, prudence, negotiation and hard work” replaced “spendthrift, impulsive, violent and leisure loving” behaviors. 5) This, in turn, reduced violence and increased literacy, work hours, savings, and productivity. 6) This transition “may…

There is a change in the global power base underway and with this change in the USA are feelings of doom and gloom, malaise, and a sense of loss with a lower standard of living. A lot of the churn and turmoil in the marketplace is associated with this change. It is this adjustment to a new global reality that is the basis for the peaking of the influence of the usa Empire.
