Suggest two reasons explaining the difference between the Litercy Rate in Canada vs./and a country in development of any country. (In french it’s “taux d’alphabétisation”.

In 2006 PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) ranked the U.S. 21th in relation to 57 other participating countries in science literacy. Apparently the scores tell us that the U.S. is way behind the Czech Republic, Croatia, EU nations and Japan. Hey — I am psychologically getting ready to be stranded for two months in Quzhou, China.
I was thinking it would be cool to start planning some classes for the coming semester, since I dont really want to be unprepared. I’ve basically understood that in China I can teach whatever I want to and I was thinking of focusing on English speaking countries and their culture (feasts.. food).. any ideas to fulfill my list of topics??

The Human Development Index (HDI) was developed in 1990 by the Pakistani economist Mahbub ul Haq. It is a comparative measure of poverty, literacy, education, life expectancy, childbirth, and other factors for countries worldwide & is a standard means of measuring well-being, especially child welfare.
In the list of top thirty countries there is not a single Islamic country which should have been the case as they control most of the world’s oil & the associated revenue. Why is it so?
