Finding the time to sit down and read aloud with our children is difficult. Evenings are often packed. We get home late from work or activities with the kids. We need to make dinner, help with homework and get our children to sleep. We deserve a little time to ourselves to do email, watch a favorite TV program or chat with our partner. However, by not sticking read aloud in to the family routine, we are missing out on an opportunity to facilitate our child’s life long literacy.
“The single most important activity for building the knowledge required for eventual success…

Parents who take the time to teach their children read and write better will see the following results in the development of their children:
Your children will have an increased enjoyment of reading, which will in turn give them better literacy skills
In order for your child to build their language and understanding, they will need to be exposed to new words. Reading books will give your child an opportunity to find new words. This will also increase a child’s curiosity, which will in turn build on their existing skills as they look for more and more new words.

Introduction
Bilingualism has a unique place within the educational context, since modern technology has minimalised the distances between countries and people. Furthermore, the growing phenomenon of multilingual and multicultural countries and groupings (United Nations, United States, European Union) gives new significance to the issue. Research on bilingualism has been progressing quite rapidly and different disciplines have added their own contributions to the field. Nevertheless, new questions surface every day and they are usually multiple answers to these questions. This paper also attempts to answer the question whether linguistic diversity is also an inclusive issue. The following study derived from the need…

I’ve read many answers here where parents have claimed to spank their children to keep them out of jail, when ironically the majority of people in prison were spanked as children. They often cite that spanking will help prevent their kids from being drop-outs, getting pregnant as a teenager and doing drugs, but the states where the drop-out, teen pregnancy, and crime rates are amongst the highest are the ones in the South like Louisiana and Arkansas where corporal punishment is more common. In comparison, countries like Sweden where spanking is illegal have very low crime rates, and a very…

Children with autism can still perform daily functions and can be integrated in normal classrooms while at school. However, this is predicated upon the teacher’s willingness to learn methods to teaching autistic children and their patience. Autistic children learn and understand differently than other children. They have a different skill set, but can learn a lot. Even though they are limited due to their disability, autistic children can really surprise you when it comes to how much knowledge they can retain.
Teachers and educators need to learn about the disorder. The teacher can take a class or learn lessons that…
