In part two, he shows “doctortew” how to use the website Wikipedia. The explanation was filmed by Chad Tew, a journalism professor, for an assignment in his course “Introduction to Mass Communication” that is taught at the University of Southern Indiana. In the midst of serious district budget cuts, we, the LMSs of HSE schools, realized that many of the decision-makers have no idea what we really do. We are not your grandma’s librarians. Sure, we want to instill a passion for reading and learning in kids, but we also teach information literacy skills, the use of new technologies for gathering and presenting info, and all sorts of other cool stuff. It was time for some advocacy. This little film is one piece of that.
