Pakistan has enjoyed a 6% growth rate since 1947. Bharat had an anemic 3% growth rate derisively known as the Hindu growth rate for 50 of the past 60 years–the last decade not withstanding.
The emphasis, today, is on giving every child a laptop. This is the strategy to combat illiteracy. I graduated third grade in 1974. My school was built in 1865. I learned to read and write. Literacy is free; it doesn’t cost anything but time and effort. Albert Einstein went to public schools and never had access to laptops . Why do we emphasize technology over education?
