I need to brush up on my literacy, where can I do this?

I’m 19 and my literacy skills seem to be lacking, is there any websites where I can re-learn these skills?
I meant grammar! and punctuation.

Is reading newspapers another way to improve your literacy skills?

If you have a hectic schedule and have no time to neither read books nor going to the library?

I have newspapers online, so it is the only way for me to read to improve my literacy but I am just wondering if it will really improve your skills (of course with determination that you will do it to improve your literacy).

A career I like is teaching because I enjoy the fact being around with kids. I take pleasure in working with them. This career goes under the tertiary industry because it provides services for its consumers to help them out.
Teaching agrees with the trends on page 75 because educators are knowledge workers. Knowledge workers, who deal among information and services, have now become necessary for the most part of industries. Knowledge workers appear to be the fastest- growing kind of workers since many years.
The skills of my parent occupation (Kindergarten helper) do not differ from the skills of my potential career (Teacher) because we both are placed in the category of tertiary industry. Literacy skills are very important nowadays, equally at work and in everyday life. People need to read, understand, locate and process information. So much of communication is determined on reading and writing in this day and age.

I have very good basic math skills, have average computer literacy, but don’t have very good eyesight. I have cataracts and sometimes have blurry vision. What would be the best computer class for me to take?

Will reading improve your literacy?

I always get pressure on me when it comes to reading. My English teachers always pressure me into reading. I mean the reason for this is that I am hearing impaired, and hearing impaired people have the tendency to have low reading skills and poor literacy (don’t mean to stereotype or generalize, please don’t get offended from this). I know I have to improve my English, which I am working on right now. I am on my way to accomplish all my goals for excellence in English. But I feel too much pressure around me. For instance, one of my teachers always tell me, “you have got to read more books. Like read, read, read, read.” I know this all the time, but sometimes from this pressure, I feel like giving up.

Another thing: every time I read books, I always force myself to memorize new vocabulary and new pieces of literacy that I have never seen before. Am I being harsh on myself?

By the way, I am really grateful for their help. They help me so much to improve my literacy but I cannot accept this pressure.

Why do young Americans have poor geography skills?

I found this National Geographic servey which sarteled me.
Americans are far from alone in the world, but from the perspective of many young Americans, we might as well be. Most young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 demonstrate a limited understanding of the world, and they place insufficient importance on the basic geographic skills that might enhance their knowledge.

Young Americans answer about half (54 percent) of all the survey questions correctly. But by and large, majorities of young adults fail at a range of questions testing their basic geographic literacy.

Only 37% of young Americans can find Iraq on a map—though U.S. troops have been there since 2003.
6 in 10 young Americans don’t speak a foreign language fluently.
20% of young Americans think Sudan is in Asia. (It’s the largest country in Africa.)
48% of young Americans believe the majority population in India is Muslim. (It’s Hindu—by a landslide.)
Half of young Americans can’t find New York on a map.

How does Braille help you to be a better cane traveler?

I am writing a paper about the relevance of literacy to developing skills for orientation and mobility. I was looking for personal experiences with cane or dog travel and how you would use literacy to plan or execute travel.
