Would the literacy rate decrease or increase if the public school systems were dissolved or if education focused on a state level? If the public school system was dissolved, would religious schools start popping up across the country? Is it appropriate to move closer to a foreign country that may have more radical religious schools than we do, or would we be safe from it because it’s not in today’s Western culture?

My daughter was born Dec 24th. Means she is eligable to start school in the fall. Is it to soon? How do I know if she is ready? She is in a Early literacy program at her daycare, where they go to the elentray school once or twice a week. They rave about how involved and excited she is about going and learning new things. They often mistake her for 5 yrs old due to height, so that isn’t a worry. She is so excited to get to go to school in the fall. Right now she is 4 yrs…
Ok we have to take these remediation course at my school if u didn’t score well on the end of level literacy exam. Now these course are after school, YOU HAVE TO GO TO THEM, the only people in there are sinors who scored basic on there end of level exams. If you do not go to the remediation classes you fail english and don’t graduate. There is no make up, there is no chance for you to take it in summer school.. Is it legal for the school to kick you of the class that they required and tell…

I know it used to be when I went…now it seems like no one knows how to spell anything. Actually, it used to be called “grammar school” when I went, now there doesn’t seem to be the same emphasis on grammar and literacy.

I am already an elementary school teacher with a master’s degree in reading and literacy. I am in the process of learning Spanish through Rosetta Stone, and have taken it in high school and a basic college course last year just for extra practice. But, I want to be able to tutor and/or teach Spanish, too. Do I need another degree, another masters, just a certificate, etc?

If so, what was your opinion on it. I’m reading it now for my literacy circle in school.
