I live in a small community and partnered with the library to conduct an afterschool literacy program. The Librarian and I composed a letter which told about the services offered by the library and the program.We invited adults to browse our magazines and books as well as develop their hobbies/interests or a new hobby/interest. One adult came to the program and said that she needed to improve her tying skills as well as prepare for an examination.We welcomed her and showed her where to find free typing lessons. I am doing an assignment for a college class on language and literacy for children. I had to choose from an author, illustrator, or topic. I have chosen an author, eric carle.

I have to choose 8 of his books to create lesson plans on and one of them must have won an award. I have to state what award the ook won and what year it was won in.

I found a huge list of awards that eric carle won but it did not specify which books won the awards.

I have to do a lesson for thrid graders that is about 30 minutes long. I was wonedring if anybody has any lessons for prefixes ( un, re, dis…) or Compare and contrast. It has to be related to literacy. So those are the two topics i thought about doing, the teacher recommended some ideas which the students need work on.
I really wanted to do something with prefixes. I wanted to do something on the overh ead then a game of some sort.
ANY IDEAS????
