How can this user “Jenn” know that my interpretation is unequivocally wrong? Most preeminent modern Feminists (here modern simply means contemporary) can’t seem to arrive at a consensus of what Feminism is all about. Despite what some may think, e.g. Wendy G, I am an avid reader. (Wendy has on multiple occasions questioned my profession/credentials, my literacy and any number of things, but I have, indeed, read quite a bit of Christina Hoff Sommers, PhD’s work including Who Stole Feminism? (1995) and found many very interesting parts about it. Dr. Sommers calls herself an “equity feminist” and in her provacative book called into question many pseudo-facts that modern Feminists had presented including the idea that there is a rise in domestic violence against women on Super Bowl Sunday (total nonsense). Here detractrors called her “misguided” and such.

This modern Feminist lady is a bit more harsh with me given our differences of opinion she appears to suggest that I’m absolutely ignorant about Feminism, devoid of logic and most disturbingly, she appears to suggest that I am also a “member of a hate group which does some sick things like, “engages in cyber terrorism and excuses the actions of rapists and murders….”

Now, I’m not a member of any group nor do I find cyber terrorism as any less serious a crime as any other form of terrorism. Those were some pretty serious fightin’ words on that lady’s part, eh? In fact, I would go out on a limb and call that libelous.

Do you really think that this is something I’m just gonna let go of?

Here’s the question. so you can see what other “nice” things this young lady had to say about me:
{Sorry system forbidding linking of pages so I have to paste entire response…}
______________________________________________________
“I see you’re still going on the “wah feminists hate my grammar” non-point. Dude, you can type in chat speak for all I care. It’s your content and ideas that are bogus.

How many logical fallacies do we have in this post?

1. Feminists do not hate men. You’ve been told this hundreds of times. Are people around here willfully ignorant or what?

2. Last time I checked, the people who post disparaging comments about single mothers, married women, unmarried women, young women, old women, fat women, shallow women, and intellectual women are anti-feminists. Willful ignorance.

3. Your question is not clear. It is riddled with enough hasty assumptions and broken record mischaracterizations that it could be written in the most beautiful poetic form possible and I’d still think the content was crap.

4. Let’s talk about hate. Anti-feminists send emails threatening illegal activity to feminists. Some contacted the abuse ex-husband of a prominent feminist blogger. More purged the articles of feminism from wikipedia. Misogynists the world round throw acid at women for going to school, they rape their wives and girlfriends, and treat women like garbage. Just how many billions of woman have to die and suffer before *you* come to your senses? Feminism isn’t a hate group. You’re part of a hate group. You brush aside reality for the comfort of a group that engages in cyber terrorism and excuses the actions of rapists and murders. You side with those that would close women’s shelters, let women die in back allies from botched abortions, and let millions of children the world over survive solely on the 70 cents to every man’s dollar that their single mothers make.

5. Your victim complex is sickening. How much longer will you continue to operate under the principle that you’re intelligent and rational when you spew such crap? Feminists here have told you and your sympathizers that we don’t hate men. We have posted peer-reviewed studies, statistics, and prominent sociological theories. We have ridiculed you for your *content* and told you as such. That you continue to say the same things over and over and over and over again gives me the impression that you have the reading comprehension of a gnat or suffer from psychological paranoia and fear of women.”
____________________________________________________
Here’s another question where all I did was ask a simple question, “Are you a feminist?” and please note her response to this completely benign question:
_______________________________________________________
“Yes, and I reject your mischaracterizations and relabeling of the word for your own purposes.”
_______________________________________________________

One could argue that it’s not men tha tshe hates but just me (but it’s really not nice to hate someone who one hasn’t even met). Do you think that this may be a reflection of how modern Feminists feel about all men? Remember, I’ve not done anything to this y

I am in Early Childhood and I am creating a literacy tote bag for a classroom. I have been given a tote bag and I am going to design it with the months of the year. I am going to put in the tote bag the childrens book ‘A Child’s Calendar’ by John Updike because it was a childhood favorite of mine as a kid. I am now twenty years old and am going to college for Early Childhood…I am currently going to college for my two year degree but eventually I’d like to earn a four year degree. I need one activity to do with students in my future classroom that has to do with the book ‘A Child’s Calendar’ by John Updike and I need 3 activites the children can do at home with/without their parents. The book ‘A Child’s Calendar’ has to do with the months of the year, how the seasons change and what children do in each month as they go from one to the next in a poetic way. Here is what the book reads for the page that describes April so that you can see what I mean:

April:

Its Spring! Farewell to chills and colds!
The blushing, girlish world unfolds

Each flower, leaf and blade of turf–
Small love notes sent from air to Earth

The sky’s a herd of prancing sheep,
The birds and fields abandon sheep

And jonquils, tulips daffodils
Bloom bright upon the wide-eyed hills

All things renew
All things began.
At, church they bring the lilies in.

Any ideas?

For example, I can ask her to point to or write a /m/, /s/, /t/, /r/, /long e/ or /short a/ and she is successful 98% of the time. But on the other hand, she can not match a picture to the sound…even when I emphasize the beginning sound. For example, moon, /mmmm/ “Hear that sound?” /mmmm/oon. And she’ll put it under e. Or /aaaa/ /aaa/nt ant. And she’ll put it…

This child has been in an environment for 2 years that works with building that literacy foundation…so it’s not the lack of exposure. Also, these 6 sounds have been used in beginning sound activities for over a month and a half. I need some fresh ideas. :-)
Let me make the comment that I’m not overly “concerned”. As for age, at this point it doesn’t matter. I understand child development and the typical order in which things are learned. :-) No offense meant by that. Just looking for fresh ideas.
