I am starting to teach The Illiad but I am stuck on what to do or rather how to make the lessons interesting. Any high school teacher (language arts/english) that has done The Iliad, please share your lesson plans with me! I would greatly appreciate it.

It’s new for me to teach children of class 3. I usually teach students of Senior High School.Teaching students of 9 years old is very difficult for me.They cannot concentrate to pay attention to my explanations.
Please share your experience how to teach children well.

Anyone have any good ideas? Just for one lesson plan, something that can be completed in a class period 50 minutes long.

I’m having trouble finding information about what exactly an English teacher is allowed to do. How much freedom is involved in choosing texts and things to cover? Are lesson plans kind of laid out for you or do you create them from scratch and they have to be approved? I’m sorry if my questions are things that are difficult to answer. I recently decided to leave corporate america and become a HS teacher and I just want as much information as possible.
Thanks!
