Or does your institution have set standards on what should be read/studied for each course? If the materials and content are set by the school, how much freedom would you say you’re allowed when it comes to personalizing or tailoring the course to your preferred teaching methods?
This question is aimed at “standard” courses (such as English 101 or Intro to Literature), not unique classes that are designed by the instructor.

I am trying to add some creative and fun assignments to my lesson plans. I teach English IV (British literature) to seniors, but I’m interested in activities from any high school English class. If I use your idea I will give you credit (via your screen name) on my handouts, etc. Thanks!!!

As of right now, I’m starting Romeo & Juliet.
I’ve been looking on the Internet myself, but it seems that I can’t resources that I like. I’ll end up making worksheets and things for myself, but I’d like to look at some ideas first.
Also, if you know of any good sites for teaching (especially for English/Language Arts), please leave a link on here.
I’m a student teacher and I’m not familiar with a lot of good resources and sites that are available on the net. I’ve searched and found things, but I know there are more that I’m just not finding.
Thanks!

I am currently in an education class and the college I am attending and I have to do a teaching demonstration in front of my class. I need a lesson plan that will work well for this demonstration. I am looking for lesson plans for high school english classes. Every time plan that I come up with is too extravagant for the demonstration. The demonstration has to be 8-10 minutes. I would appreciate any help. Thank you so much!
not exactly what i am looking for, but thank you for trying.
