Hi , I’m peruvian and the school education is not too diferent than in the usa but if we talk about public schools the thing is diferent .. public schools dont have things like computers .. etc..
I’ve seen on the Tv how are schools in the usa and is almost the same here well.. because I’ve studied in a private school in Lima and courses .. the same that in USA
And we take vacations on summer (january , february) and we come back to schol in march , the school year finishs in december whne the sumer starts .. and uniforms .. almost all the school s use uniforms
Hi,
Unfortunately there is no website because as you can see peruvian education is not something that is talked about but do not worry ill give you the info and will help you.If you want a source of the reliability you will know because i am a born peruvian and speak spanish english and french fluently and all my family is peruvian.By the way some good peruvian private schools would be Rooselvelt school(an american school with the usa system, middle school, high school),Markham School and Cambridge College both of them british schools and only-for-girls San Silvestre School also a british school. All of them in Lima, they are VERY VERY exclusive and among the best of the country.
Ok the literacy rate is average. In lima a good percent has high literacy rate especially of preivate schools but in a whole a lot of people do not even know how to read and write cause you may know a 44%of Peru is extremely poor.Even though Lima is a gorgeous city but in the out-of-the-city places there are many slums. The courses and activities depend on the school. Most public schools have math lenguaje(lenguage, like english for you)science and P.E.
Private schools(which i attend to)have more variety. They have art,math,lenguaje,english,science,P.E.,Religion(if you are christian)computer studies,Music,French(in some schools),Chinese(only in san silvestre that i know of)History,Geography,Historia del Peru(History of Peru,Geografia(Geography in spanish),Civic studies(like the police, districts family and thet stuff)behavior is not a subject but is evaluated and you have a mark for it,Tutoria(Tutory)that is with your class tutor is like 3 times a semester and does not have a mark with it.They teach you values like respect, honesty and tolerance and that things to become a better person and stuff. Also you may have sexual education(but i think only in some private but not public schools but in my school they do),and you talk about sex, rape and the like.
That are the subjects, the activities are like footbal art drama dancing choir basketball voleyball swimming music ballet karate and more.
And yes they do have the same calendar and vacations but summer vacations are in December 15th to March 3rd aprroximately so summer vacations are December January and February so be prepared because its different and in July we go out 3 weeks because of Day of independence that is 28th of july.
the differences may be the infraestrucure. It is likely to be different but private schools do have lockers or cabinets to have your stuff there.
the dress code varyies a lot from school to school some just have some uniform rules,in others uniform is vital and they are very strict with it like in my school and others just let you go with street/casual clothes although you can go with fancy/classy clothes in that schools too.
Now, a school day is like in USA and ive told you everything so we will move on to the time to go and leave school. In public schools you can go in the day or night the one you prefer because some kids may have to be in their house helping their family or working because as you may know public schools are mostly attended by people of low economic class and private schools of middle and high class because in private schools you can found form average kids to rich socialite people. In private schools schools open mostly at 8:30am and finish at 2:50pm.
And the social scenes and social events are very exciting, fun and wild in Peru!!!
There are parties, birthdays and the so called “reus”(“slang”for social meetings).
Ok, peruvian are very social and love parties and the like. There are very handsome and hot peruvian and the stereotypical nerd.
Friends are very loyal and friends in Peru are very close leading to girls to sometimes tell their secrets put each other nicknames hold hands hug kiss on the cheek and sometimes(only some girls)a small peck on the lips. They are very protective and fierce of each other too and treat each other like sisters.
Now boys are like brothers to each but without all the holding hands peck kiss part.
Sure they are very preotective and fierce and loyal friends too but the physical affection is limited to “sweet”punching, the typical around the neck hug,and when they have missed each other a real hug.
Now the parties are very fun and they dance but can lead to disasters.
The male and female relationships are ver different which has many flirtation and bickering which has lead me to some surprises with the opposite sex.
Sometimes you can see them kissing passionately and making out in the school halls(but watch out for teachers, they may punish you)but do not worry very rare to find them having sex.
Now they may be stupid or disatrous because in anything or parties they may drink beer and stuff, drink a lot,get drunk, get stoned or high, get in fights or injured or injur somebody else or bullying. They may also make out and the owner and the girlfriend/boyfriend may go upstairs to have sex.may happen and hope that helped.
