In our modern world, must the U.S. president be able to use a computer? Is computer literacy a requirement to be the leader of the free world? Specifically, would John McCain be a poor choice of president because he has not entered the age of computers? Must a U.S. president be computer literate or can he/she rely on advisors and aides to assist him/her in making decision regarding the internet and U.S. technology? Would a U.S. president push for improvements that took advantage of modern technology if he/she can’t even use a computer?

It would be preferable, but not a requirement. After all many of the countries’ greatest presidents didn’t even have a damn type-writer. Now if they assign a person who can’t use a computer to the post of say, Secretary of Education, it could present a problem.
Definately
Definitely yuhuh
No….they have “people” for that.
It’d be nice but I’d rather have someone who could still remember what they had for breakfast that morning.
It’s a sad case. I think my mother is wise, but I don’t think I’d vote for her as President of the US. I’d probably like her to advise the President…but if she can’t type her own memos….I definitely don’t want her to be the President of the US….lol
i don’t think its necessary but it would help anyway even if they don’t they hire people to use them
I don’t think it should be a requirement, although, it leads to my next point.
I think that all candidates should take an IQ test and a Foreign/Domestic politics test, and those results should be open to the public, like their voting records, etc. I want to know that the person I am voting for has a foundation of knowledge that someone running for President should have.
