Great French dictionary. Includes grammar and lots of idioms and French culture snips. A must for any serious student of French. All these years using a pocket dictionary was a waste. I should have had this thing and I would have understood a lot more of the French literature I was trying to read. So far, I have found every word I have attempted to look up. The only words you won’t find are proper nouns, or probably some Parisian slang won’t be in there either.

This is a good dictionary for students in upper or lower level French courses. It’s a huge dictionary, so if you are looking for something to carry around this may not be right for you. It is thorough, and excellent for an at home dictionary.

This dictionary is too huge to be lugged around for use outside the office or home, but it’s a good reference, especially for translation of older texts. It doesn’t have enough of the more common present-day idioms; for that, I use wordreference.com. Still, it has enough multiple entries for words that you can usually find some of the more obscure meanings that you need.

i just love it. it’a a bit heavy, though, but it has incredible features like conjugated verbs tables, a cultural supplement, equivalences,maps,communication guides, pictures,and all are in color. this is a great addition to my collection.
