Hey,
for my exams revision, I am reading textbooks but the next day, I forget everything i have read.
It’s not productive so i would like some advice/tips to help me get the best of my reading.
How should we read textbooks and how to get the most of them?
The night before the exam, how can I revise since I can not read over again all the chapters of my course in the book?
Thanks for your time

The best way for me to remember what I’ve read is to take notes. I haven’t been in school for a while, but I still do this. When you take notes, you’re organizing the information in a way that helps you to understand what you’re reading. Then, when you have to study for a test, you can use your notes as a study guide and your textbook as a reference in case you need more details.
b.t.w., I think you mean “review,” not “revise.”
I’m a student too. I’ll suggest you to use some marker to highlight the important points (or whatever way to mark the important points) when you first read. On the night before, you can just reread the important points and it should give you good idea and memorize better.
To improve your reading and have it productive in long term, there is no short cut for quick tips. I’m poor reader in the past too, and I learned speed reading a few months ago and now have my reading skill much improved. There is a set of techniques, but it is difficult to state them clearly here. And you’ll need to practice the skills with some tools. So if you are serious on this, I’ll suggest you to go for some speed reading course. It will be of great help.
I can recommend the online course I used, it also teaches how to comprehend and memorize better. It is not expensive, and it has quite a lot of good customer reviews from Amazon. There is also a website which reviews it and recommends how to get most out of the course. I include the links here for you to check them yourself.
