Same as abled people, you are vulnerable and basically stifled at every turn in life I would presume!
If you can’t read you can’t work, or even fill out the proper forms to receive supplemental help.
I’ve been a LVA (Learning Volunteers for America) for 15 years (mostly basic science/social studies/math) and can honestly say that, it depends. Illeterates tend to have a close friend or family member to help them in job situations. A lack of reading and/or writing skills will definately limit a person to entry level jobs. If you know someone with this problem, please direct them to your local Library or Social Services office.
