While muslim nations used to be the most scientifically advanced in the past, currently radical fundamentalism is taking hold. I’m not saying everyone is a radical muslim, it’s just that the people in power who are radical muslims are able to do what they want. What they believe is that change is a bad thing. So they want to continue living according to old traditions and reject any form of modern advancements (technology, medicine, etc).
Religion cannot be taken into account for such things. They are not relevant.
Muslims believe in Christ, Moses and God (Yes the same God as Christians) Why Europe advance while Many Countries in Africa are not. They are Christian as well.
To me, it is more about the history. If you learn about the Middle East history, you will know. How much she has suffer. What is actually the causes for many people to become terrorists.
Moreover, I think the most advance country in the Middle East is United Arab Emirate. It is a Muslim Country YES.
Because they were placed where they are artificially to destabilize the region and thus allow the west easier access to the oil.
Because Islam deified 6th century Arab culture thru the Koran and the life of their Prophet, and their faith makes progress, especially in human rights very difficult.

I’d say the UAE is very well off too, as long as you’re not extremist; you can actually become something! Be you a person or a nation!
They are over populated so their possiblity of someone being a genius is higher than other countries
Because US taxpayers subsidize their sordid existence.
